OUR STORY
County Line Boats was born out of our owner, Andy Wycoff’s, experiences growing up hunting public marshlands and lakes in Missouri. After countless times of watching ducks land out in areas that were unattainable, in 2006 he decided to build a layout boat. Andy wanted something that would not only help him get where he needed to be, but also hide him once he got where he was going. The first attempt was a wood and fiberglass model that accomplished these two goals, but revealed a new flaw. Within a couple seasons of regular outings, this boat had rotted out. It would be so heavy by the end of the season that it was impossible for one man to load and unload.
Andy and a few of his hunting buddies began to brainstorm a way to construct a layout boat that would not only last longer and take the abuse that comes with hunting Missouri’s marshes day in and day out. In 2008, Andy built his first aluminum layout boat that solved those problems as well as remaining lightweight. This concept has now become the driving purpose for County Line Boats, which he founded in 2012.
